1.1 Faculty of education history
Faculty of education was the primary branch of study, founded together with Suratthaniteacher’s colleges in 1976-1994. Then, in 1977-2004 was developed to be SuratthaniRajabhat institute. Next, it was developed to be SuratthaniRajabhat university. The faculty of education was the faculty that created the graduate in education, followed by act of Rajabhat institute in 2004.It was developed respectively such as

1973 -founded with Suratthani teacher’s colleges followed in principle and purpose of the 3rd version ofeconomic and society development plan, ( 1972 to 1976)
1976 – enrolled the firstling students that required to studyin Certification of Education.
1978 – enrolled students that required to study in Diploma of Education.
1979-enrolled for students that required to study in Diploma of Education as 1979 and opened the project of training for teacher and educational staff on Saturday and Sunday. These students were the first series students that graduated in Bachelor Degree of Education.
1980 – enrolled for students in Bachelor Degree of Education and the Certification of Education was annulled.
1981-1982– opened the teacher and educational staff center at ChumpornPhysical Education institute, in 1982. Moreover, the Physical Education program was founded in this year by cooperation betweenChumporn Physical Education institute and SuratthaniRajabhat institute.
1983-1984 – enrolled the special time student who required to study in the curriculum of Certification of Technique in Vocational.In 1984, they changed to be the regular students.
1985– The college founded others fields for the new students and annulled the Curriculum of Certification of Technique in Vocational.In this year, the teacher training board established rules about the group of teacher’s colleges in the South. For this reason, they were developed to be the united colleges of southern knew as Thasin united colleges that there were five teacher’s colleges. Moreover,the united college’s office of southern and the Demonstration school of Suratthani teacher’s college were founded.
1986 – General person could apply to study in the college beyond the student in the Field of Teacher Vocational.
1987-1992– Suratthani teacher’s college campus was opened at SaardPhadermwittayaschool,Chumporn.
1990 – In this year, it was the cooperating between science and technology institute of Canada and Suratthani teacher’s college to develop field of management within 3 years. In addition to, the field of Health Science was founded by cooperating with college of Physical Education, Chumporn.
1991 – The staff training center was moved from SaadphadermWittayaschool to Sriyaphai school. In this year, Suratthani teacher’s college got the cooperation from the cooperation of Japan organization (Jaiga) to try out the project of learning center. It used for develop chemical and computer ability of teacher inThasin united colleges.
1992 – King Bhumipol named Rajabhat institute for the teacher’s college on 14thFebuary 1992.
1995 – Promulgating the act of Rajabhat institute in 1995 and SuratthaniRajabhat institute imitated follow in this act.
1996-1998 – SuratthaniRajabhatuniversity stopped enrolling for the demonstration school student. Because of the change of teacher training way and the institute planning to increase the Master degree program.
1999 – The graduate school was founded and the first program was Master of Education Administration.
2000– Ranong campus of SuratthaniRajabhat institute was founded in this year.
2001 – Graduate Diploma in Teacher Profession was founded.
2002-2003 – The institute would prepare to be the university. For this reason many fields were opened.
2004 – The Curriculum of Bachelor of Education (5 years) was opened. It changed from the former curriculum.
2005-2009 – The Curriculum of Bachelor of Education (5 years) was opened continually.
2010 – Opened the teacher development and human resource institute on 27th April 2010.
2010-2011 – Developed the curriculum of Doctorate of Leadership of Education Management. It was opened in 2010
